The climate of Maio is hot and dry all year round, with average temperatures between 23°C and 29°C. Here too, the months from November to June are the best to fully enjoy its beaches and natural landscapes, thanks to sunny days and light breezes. The summer months, from July to September, may bring some rare rain, useful for the island's agricultural landscape.

International and Inter-Island Connections in Cape Verde

Maio does not have an international airport. To reach it from abroad, you need to land on Santiago (Praia airport) and continue with a domestic flight or a ferry. Internal connections are provided by small TICV company planes and passenger ships departing from Praia. Once on the island, transport is simple: local taxis and aluguers (shared minibuses) allow you to move between the main villages.
